ahh... i'm sorry!!! I know how difficult it is when they're sick. Zena has chronic ear infections. Her last one required surgery it hit and worsened so fast. The humidity sure didnt help matters. I'm praying for your boy and his health improving greatly!!! its no fun for anyone! My vet suggested regular cleaning and using the dry ear powder to soak up any added moisture so help avoid yeast buildup that would be the most common cause for infection. Again, praying for you boy!
Poor Elvis :( I hope things start to look up for both of you soon.
I want to scream! My vets office called this morning and had to reschedule our appointment until tomorrow my reg vet had an issue come up at home I guess and the other one in the practice is on vacation until tomorrow. Elvis seems better this morning his ear is back up but he keeps scratching at it. There really isnt anymore build up in there but when I cleaned them black dirt does come out, there is no odor etc.

i mixture you could try is i believe its 9 parts water to 1 part vinegar. The vinegar kills the yeast and its supposed to help keep the ears clean and clear so they dont get any more ear infections. I never tried it with Zena because by the time i learned about it, she was already a resident with my inlaws. Call your vets office and ask them about it. I would still get him checked to make sure first and if he does have an ear infection get that cleared up then keep his ears pretty clean using the solution if you want a couple times a week. Zena didnt have an odor with her ears either until she needed surgery and all that came out of nowhere.
