Here is an email I sent to our breeder, about the deceitful tricking that i've obviously been exposed to after a conversation outside Walmart... (the puppies in question are 10 wks old and can be seen in this thread Atlas & Kronos )

The story behind it is thus;
We took them for their (almost) daily socialization yesterday. Walked them around Lowes, where they helped us shop for appliances and met all kinds of people! After an hour or so of that, we walked over to Walmart, where I waited outside while Lorie went in to do some grocery shopping.
We’re sitting outside Walmart, and they are INCREDIBLY calm, just sitting on the floor, watching people go by, not jumping to get up, or going crazy when people pet them.
There is a guy outside who has been standing for a while watching us, and he says to me…
“What’s wrong with your dogs? What have you done to them?”
“What do you mean?” I reply
“Well, look at them. They are not interested in anything, it’s like they are dead to the world, what did you do to them?” he says.
“Maybe they are just well bred, well trained dogs?” I reply to him.
He kinda grunts, and walks away for a bit. Then, he comes back…
“Well, them are definitely some pretty labs, that’s for sure”
“Oh, no, these are German Shepherds”, I reply. “They are 10 weeks old”.
“Nah man, them are labs” he said, “you got ripped off if you think they are shepherds”.
“I’m sorry, but they are German Shepherds” I respond. “While they are young like this, their ears do kinda flop over like labs though”
“I’m telling ya man, those are labs. I should know, I had them all my life and have bred some before, those are labs” he says.
“Okay”, I say, with a smirk.
So! What’s the deal Shannon? I thought we were getting GSDs, but this guy was obviously an expert and knows what he is talking about!!!hahaha.![]()
