I found a great new walking trail (new to us, anyway) near the river, and took Kodee there last week. We did a fairly long walk, and a little jogging mixed in (very little - about 1 minute at a time, then walk 5 minutes or so, then 1 minute or so of jogging, etc). Anyway, the path isn't exactly gravel, the rock is smaller than that - kind of crushed up/fine gravel, but not sand.

Will this surface bother a dog's pads if they aren't used to it? If so, do we have to build up to walking/jogging on this material (I like it b/c it's easier on my knees than asphalt, and I assume easier on Kodee's joints as well). TIA!

i like the gradual method of doing things. take Kodee to that area in concern and go for a few small walks untill her pads toughen up. i use to walk my boy on asphalt and concrete to get his pads tough.
