My Riley is 7 months old and he's 66 pounds. When I run my hands along his rib cage I can feel them but not each one. He doesn't have a lot of fat on him and he plays all the time without tiring. His sire was huge, weighing well over 100 pounds and had a head like a bear. Is 66 too much for a pup that young?

Frank weighed 60 pounds at 6 months, he'll soon be 7months and I'm eager to see what he weighs next week,
I would go by how your pup feels and acts, if he has plenty of energy, healthy looking coat, and I can feel the ribs but not around each rib is how I judge my dogs weight.

Moses was 69lbs at 6 months. He's now 2.5 and I've been telling everyone he is a swvelt 95 lbs...to my surprise at the vet last week he weighed in at 100lbs. He's still very swvelt and has a nice waist.

What you want to avoid is an overweight dog.
