After seeing the beautiful pictures of the black sable, I now have a question, my breeder listed Frank as a black and silver, I've had people tell me his pattern is bi-color, now that he's almost 6 mos his silver part has not increased really since I brought him home at 9 weeks, but some of his black has a silver look under neath, it's not solid like his legs it has a different look to it, it has more the look of the silver I see on the black sable pictures. sorry but I can't get a picture to show this, can they change that much from one pattern to another. or will you know for sure when they are puppies.

Thank you for the different sites, I dont' think he is a sable his black looks too solid to me, his fur just looks different in spots because he has more then one color on each hair, like some of the discreptions I've seen of sables. He's my first gsd so how the pups change colors is very interesting to me.
