Everywhere I take this little guy people are unsure if he is a German Shepherd because his coat is so dark and his ears are shorter. Is it not very common? What kind of coat does your dog have?

Bicolour stock coat It's definitely not common so it's hard to explain to people that yes he is a purebred, no his registration is not fake, and no he's not a wolf :

I also have a bi-colour stock coat who's very dark and like Shade always have to explain that no he's not mixed with anything.

ditto, my first was a bi... short coat and a thin girl, I always heard doberman - especially in her akward teenage years when she was all legs.

they aren't rare, but obviously not as common as b&t or even sables. primarily found in working lines. they're one of my favorite colors.

I see there was a Take a Poll on GSD color and Bi was 7%. B&T by far the most and Sable higher than what I thought.

This was Max' s mom- Nicole. Beautiful bicolor her whole head was black. Hard to see but had a few tan markings. You dont see to many.

I have a bi color long haired, which really throws people off. Where I live almost no one has seen a long haired gsd and with her colors they just assume she's a mix
