I have a 4 month old pup who is great at ringing the sleigh bells at the back door to go out, but is often confused when on a carpet in certain rooms tending to pee at will. Any ideas on how to stop this. Most of the house is hardwood or tile and it seems as soon as he hits a carpeted area he thinks it's the grass. Please help ...

Are you cleaning the carpet with something like nature's miracle? You have to remove the scent or he will just keep doing it. He knows the difference between carpet and grass at 4 months old.

You using baby gates and closed doors to keep the pup in the room with you? That way you can better pay attention and catch them in the act to TRAIN the housebreaking.

Crate training is a huge help when you aren't home.
