Deja is 6 years old and intact. Looking over her records, I am seeing a pattern of her estrus and some skin issues that seem to have something to do with her immunity status.
Around her estrus (or heat or being in season) she has had Lipfold Pyoderma, staph infection on belly, hot spots on her butt and in her foot.
Whether this seems related determines if I will have her fully spayed or have her undergo an ovary saving spay (removing "just" the uterus) in a few months.
Any ideas?

I suppose it makes pretty good sense. During pregnancy allergies and eczema definitely get worse (in us humans). As far as I'm aware dogs go through a hormonal cycle that mimics pregnancy every time they have a heat, which could easily have a similar effect in them. My girl has mild environmental allergies, and also sometimes gets skin infections. She just got spayed a couple weeks ago, so I'm still waiting to see what changes may take place long term. Good luck either way!
