I am a new memeber currently with an 18 month old SAR dog in training. She (Hera vom Kavellerie) Hera and I live in SE Alaska and have been working toward her Wilderness cert for starters and are hoping to test in the spring. I have been following posts on here for a while and decided to join in. I look forward to interacting with you guys and learning a ton. Seems like a lot of good people, ideas and information.

He! She is beautiful! Love her paw markings and her goggles :) . How long have you been training? My 7mos old is about to start training; she is slow maturing , although loves the training we've done at home and shows alot of promise.

(P. S. You can send the snow my way :) NE WA)

The first photo was our first ski trip, she was pretty cocky on the uphill skin with the firm snow conditions. She got kinda mad on the down hill when she couldnt keep up. Great fun! Obedience obviously started with just fun stuff on day 1 but we started run aways very casually at 12 weeks. Right now shes doing blind problems with live victims about 1 hour long search times, varied terrain, heavy cover, equipment yards, lots and lots of variation. multiple victims and walk alongs when ever I can talk ore than one person out into the cold. We need all the snow we can get!!!

Welcome to the forum; somehow I missed your post when it came in. Lovely dog.

Great for building nose time - so many people leave out that little detail :).

Who are you certifying with?

Thanks again for such great greetings!
Well I will be certifying through our team SEADOGS (South East Alaska Organized for Ground Search. The director of the team is part of the SARDUS board so I anticipate another trip south this year, where Hera and I will test in Air scent with them.

I have seen photos of Hank, Heras brother and Isen both really handsome fellas!

Thanks again everyone for the info out there, I look forward to more posts.
