Look at this beautiful black nose!

A couple days ago I noticed he had a little pink scratch on it. Almost like he rubbed it on his crate door or something. Yesterday it looked better almost healed but this moringing after playing with him I noticed it was bigger and bright pink again- like he pulled the scab off. The fact that his nose is so black makes it really show. It doesn't seem to hurt him. Anybody else's pup get this? I don't want it to scar and I also don't want him to pick up on a habit that will case him to rub his nose on his crate door. (not sure if thats how it happened- just a guess) I'll try to get a photo of it later. Help! PS: This photo is his best imitation of Rin Tin Tin! I love my little guy!

He is very, very cute. I love the picture, you should enter it into one of the photo contest. Mine have never had a scratch on there nose, but they have been extremely dry and the vet told me to buy vitamin E capsules and break them open and put the liquid on there nose. Hope that helps.

Can't offer advice on his baby-nose but I agree the picture is a winner. Absolutely stunning baby and composition.

Call your vet if in doubt, it's worth the money and easing your mind.
I'm sure it's just from roughhousing and play but double check w/your vet, perhaps ointment or antibiotics are in order.

Good luck with that precious baby!

Thanks guys! I will checkout the vitamin E and if I have any worries about how it is healing (it's not deep at all just minor) I will call the vet. If it is from his crate door his vet is not that good a behavior things. I probably shouldn't be such a worrier or I'll turn Radar into a wimp! It's another rainy day here in TN and his training class was canceled so we just went to an enclosed tennis court where we played ball for an hour and then he got a stuffed kong in his crate. Hopefully it's a one time thing and he will not be rubbing his nose on the crate door in the future.

When we brought Link home he was 9 weeks old and it was -30 C and when my hubby took him out to pee on the gravel under the deck he put his nose on a rock and it stuck. When my hubby brought him in the rock then fell off in the warm air. For about a month after he had a pink spot on his nose but it did go away without doing anything to it.
