Titan is my 9 mo old GSD. I have written on here about this problem before but was hoping for more assistance. Titan chases his tail. Non stop. I thought that it was just a pent up energy thing because he's in my house all day while I am at work. Sometimes as long as 12 hours a day.. So, I started running him before work and after and I always play with him. Especially after I noticed this problem I try to drive all his energy out. I started realizing it's most common when there are new people around or he is with me outside our home, the vet's, a friend's house, the dog park, etc. When it's just me at home he is more calm and doesn't do it quite as much. I am starting to wonder if it's an anxiety/nervous thing. I understand that this is actually kind of common in GSDs. My vet suggests giving him medication to calm him down as she suspects it's anxiety.. I just don't know what to do anymore. I have tried giving him a command to stop but he gets so focused on it that he doesn't listen to anything I say. I literally have to grab him to stop him. I have tried distracting him with a toy but again.. sometimes he just doesn't notice it. any advice would be awesome.. thanks..
