Or, soon to be NE, anyway. Moving at the end of the month does a lot to change a person's position on the continent. :p

Anyway, you can call me Bisou.

I'm 21 years old and a student. I stumbled upon this forum in my extensive and near exhausting research into the GSD breed.

I haven't owned a GSD of my own, or any dog, for that matter, but I've grown up with my parents' dogs, two labs and a sheltie, all of my life.

I have a friend who has two GSDs and I love the breed. I love how intelligent, loyal and quirky the breed seems to be.

I've had my heart set on one of these awesome dogs since I was 12, and I am so glad that I happened upon these forums so that I can talk to owners and breeders and other GSD lovers alike. :)

So, that's a little bit about me.

Hope to talk with you soon!

Welcome! Frank is my first GSD, I didnt' realize there was so many options in the breed till I started looking for one of my own. A friend of mine who has dobermans actually helped me get started on my search for the right puppy for me.

Hello and welcome!

Sinister is my first GSD, now that I have had one I will always have at least one in my life and most likely always a black GSD.

They are the best breed ever.

Franksmom: Yeah, I know. I knew about show lines and Working lines, but never realized that there's so much more to figure out when looking for a GSD. I know what I want. Now it's just a matter of finding the right puppy/dog. I'm in this on my own, so I'm trying to learn all I can before I actually have my new baby in my arms.

Thank you for the welcome!

MaggieRoseLee: Oh. That was stupid. I realize now that 'NE' could be read as 'New England'. In fact, I meant 'Nebraska'. :D Sorry about the confusion!

Thank you for the welcome, anyway!

ahazra: I'm finding that out. Thanks for the welcome!

LaRen616: Oh, I love the other colorations of the GSD other than just the sable or black and tan. I'm not sure which one I'd prefer, though, I want temperament over looks. Is there a difference in the temperaments of the black/white versus the others?

Thank you for the welcome!

GSDAlphaMom: Haha, thanks! :D

Welcome to this forum and to Nebraska! :) One caution - if you're going to live in Nebraska, you're going to have to be a Husker fan.....just sayin' ;)

Your Aunt would be correct - It's really all we have....except now we have the Omaha Nighthawks (UFL) and that's catching on pretty quickly. But, I'm sure you'll be badgered into becoming a Husker fan until you actually root for them or buy your first "Red" shirt! But...if you can't convert (which I wouldn't blame ya) just say "Go Big Red" every now and then and you should be fine :).

Wow, I'm way 'dumber' than you even thought! I was thinking you were meaning literally northeast for NE!

Welcome anyways (though you are much further away from PA then I thought! )

I'll do my best. I don't want to get lynched, after all. ;)

CaseysGSD and Deuce: Thanks!
