Came through his surgery wonderfully.

And his hip and elbows look great. No evidence of HD and the joints are tight and well fitted. The growth plates are also closed!

I won't have them sent to OFA as he is just a little over a year and the breeder said don't spend the extra money now. But it is nice to know I can proceed with some of my goals for him.

The poor little guy has a lampshade and was banging into everything so I took it off.
As long as I can watch him I will leave it off. He will have to wear it tonight and tomorrow I am taking the day off to stay home with him.

Tanner wore a lampshade as well when he came home from his neuter. He was cryptorchid and had incisions ALL over his belly and ended up wearing the darn thing for the whole 14 days that the stitches were in.
I have never seen a cone get as banged up as his. Good Lord, by the time we were able to take it off and keep it off it was covered in duct tape and filthy. He would run through the yard and scoop up snow with it.
I am glad to hear that Havoc's hips and elbows look good. One less thing to worry about, right?

There is virtually no swelling and he is doing really well. Took him out to the office today and he was happy to go with me. I will leave him home Saturday when I go out to track but he should be back to normal activity by Sunday.

Congrats!

Just had our 7 month old Kuno neutered yesterday. All went well, and he seems just fine. No lampshade for him, we'll just have to watch him closely to make sure that any licking does not do any damage.
