Way to go DianaM! That was GREAT!

My very first purebred and first dog out in the big world from college was an Afhan Hound named Jessie. I believe you hit it dead on with your comment, yep, that's what A-L-O-O-F Jess would of said.
But wow, are they just goofy in love with life. His trot and bounce would of joyed the saddest soul. They are clowns and high on life and that alone rated him on a pedestal.
That being said, nothing can top the GSD in my world.

I have learned that each breed has specific qualities to meet different people's needs when picking out a pet.

I was really surprised about the ranking of the mastiff. I have two friends who love that breed. I don't have the heart to tell them where their dogs rank on this list.

Quote:GSD's aren't "best" any anything--they are second-best at EVERYthing.
Somewhere at sometime I remember hearing a K9 Police Officer say (parapharesed) that the GSD is not the best tracker, not the best at protection, not the best at search and rescue, not the best at obedience but the GSD is the ONLY breed that can do it ALL!!

If you think about, it is there anything that a GSD can't do - hmmm not that I can think of.
