Hey guys,

My boy is 7 months now and he looks like an adult dog to me, I was wondering will he grow more in size? When I searched the net about this topic, the only info I get is growth per weight vs age.

I weighed him and he is 34kg.

I am looking for info about this in terms of size like ground to shoulder Hight, longer hair, bigger head.. Etc.

Would appreciate some info on this.

Thanks

T

Typically won't be done growing in terms of weight till around 3 years old. I'd say he likely has another 10-15lbs of weight to grow. He's approaching the age where he'll stop growing in height.

Here are the breed size standards according to the AKC website:
Height: 24-26 inches (male), 22-24 inches (female)
Weight: 65-90 pounds (male), 50-70 pounds (female)

Seriously, every dog is different. But in my opinion, at 7 months, there's a big possibility your dog is going to put on over 10-15lb more. Mine put on 30ish since he was 7 months. Doesn't matter as long as he's not under or overweight.

Height stops at 18 months. But again, every dog is different.

Growth plates should close by about 12 months, some as late as 18 months for larger breeds. so the height growth will stop by then. Mine stopped growing UP at about 10 months. When they fill out (if they are not spayed or neutered) will vary per dog. For dogs from my boy's breeding, it seems that at 3-4 years old their chests developed and they topped out on weight.

At 7 months, I think your dog will get taller. He will definitely gain weight as he matures nd fills out

Thanks all.. Then I'm not sure if mine is a GSD or not to be honest. Or purebred rather. Is there a test I can do to find out? If yes then how much it costs?
