Hi all,
I made this in the socialization thread but perhaps it belongs in here? anyway....

Im new here and my wife and i have had our pup Indy for just on a week. She is now 3 months. She is a gorgeous pup and is very playful and friendly with us. We began socialising her with our friends chocolate lab and they both get on really well. We are also starting puppy class in a couple of weeks. We have been taking her for short walks aroundaround the block and have noticed that she tends to growl or bark at people who are walking towards us. She ignores people who are down their driveways and yesterday she even approached a woman sitting at a bus stop fine. So why the growling and barking? And what do i do about it?
THANKS!

Common for an excited puppy!

DOG classes are ideal for this and why the vast majority of us attend!

Look at around 2 minutes, does this look familar?

Quite familiar yes.

I took her for a walk to the vet to drop off our registration form for puppy class and made a little progress. The vet is near a mall which wasn't too busy for the morning but still had a number of people around. We walked in not so congested areas and she was fine. We even walked past a bus shelter that had about 7 people milling around it and she didn't seem to pay any attention to them. She only barked a couple of times at one man who was approaching us on the footpath but once he was gone she was fine.
