This isnt in regard to my GSD but I was still hopeing to get some opinions or suggestions. My 3 yr old Jack russell developed a clear watery discharge from her right eye about 3 weeks ago or so. So it was there for 2 days and the next day I took her to the vet, but by then it had basically cleared up. There was no redness in her eye though she was scratching at it alittle. Well the vet put dye in her eye and all of that to see if it was scratched and nothing. The vet said her eye looked perfectly fine. So I was relieved and since then it has watered every now and then but nothing bad. Well I came home tonight Feed her and took her outside. When we came in I noticed her eye was and still is watering like crazy. No pus just clear watery tears kinda. I cleaned it with a warm towel and she squinted for awhile and it seems to gotten alittle better. I have no clue what brings this on and she has never had the problem in the past years. We have been mowing our yard today so I am curious if it could be a grass allergy problem? Is there anything I can do to treat this at home. I heard just a plain saline solution could help but her eye is already watering so much, how would more liquids help? And why would it only effect one eye?

When I was a young child we had a Doxie who had problem with Grass Pollen, the area between his pads would get read and blister. So we had to wash his feet off get them dry and apply a salve from the Vet every time he went outside.

My first GSD loved to run in the swamp with us when we took a run with the wheeler, but every time he did he would have just rivers running down from his eyes.
