Looking for thoughts on this. Grain free foods are all the rage and I have noticed most dog food manufactures have replaced grain with legumes (predominately peas/chickpeas) for an additional source of protein and carbs/fillers. Along with that, dog food review sites seem to going along with the trend rating foods with a lot of pea content as good foods simply because they don't contain corn, wheat, rice or other grains.

I'm not sure legumes especially in the form of peas is any better than rice as legumes are known to be highly inflammatory and high in lectins that are said to be related to food sensitivity.

Thoughts???

That has been my thought. Also legumes are incomplete proteins unless paired with grains and are being used to replace more complete meat proteins. Lets talk about amino acid profiles.
