Out German Shepherd had surgery for a luxating patella back in Jan. When we took him in for his 2 month xray in March his fur had for the most part grown back in.. He had to have a second surgery because his patella hadn't healed right.. The second surgery was done on march 14th.. Two months later it is healed but his fur is barely growing back in.. Has anyone had this problem before ?? Any info would be great ... thanks

Possibly a dietary issue? Going out on a limb here but the gf is a hairdresser and its advice that she gives a lot of her clients. Natural stressors could cause a reduction in hair rejuvenation or some changes to your dogs diet to try and promote he growth?

I see this sometimes on older dogs, or dogs that have hypothyroid or other conditions. Is he generally healthy otherwise? If so, he may just be going through a period where the hair is at rest and not actively growing. A dog's coat goes through stages where it grows, then rests, then dies off to be replaced by new hair. If the hair was shaved during the rest period, it may take a while for it to regrow.
