My husband takes Ruby to work with him on a tree farm.
He tells me that the flies are wanting to bite her ears.

Does anyone have a safe simple recommendation to repel the flies?

Thanks.

Thanks for that HorseCrazy. We are using Frontline.

Duh- she's due Tuesday. I'll clean her ears today and Frontline her.

Any other suggestions still welcome.

K9 Advantix, is for Fleas, Tick, Flies, and mosquitoes, and works wonders with nats too! To my knowledge it's the only flea and tick medicine, that repels flies and mosquitoes.

Is it a pup? If it is older than 5 or 6 months you can go to a tack store and pick up an absorbine product, ultrashield -- the black bottle. It is expensive for fly spray, but safe to use on dogs and lasts forever. Every three days spray around the ears covering the eyes. It works great. Citronella is cheaper but my horse people do not give it much credit.

I use the ultrashield when flies are bad, and Revolution every six weeks for everything else. On Jenna and Cujo we use Advantage Multi.
