Now that the kiddos have started to accept the RAW diet (it's been 4 days and they come running if I open a plastic baggie) I want to start some supplements soon.

I intend to buy salmon oil, but have some 1400mg fish oil tablets I bought for myself and am not using. (fish aftertaste was icky!)

I was wondering if it's ok to give to the kids?

Sorry if I seem like a dunce, just new to all of this.

they are gelcaps? I would think they are fine, I feed my dogs all human grade supplements. When you do start supplementing go with cold water pure salmon oil and also give vitamin E(400iu) daily

They are softgels, yes. I got a huge bottle at Sams Club.

Great! The salmon oil at the pet stores is a little $$.

DEFINITELY do not forget the Vitamin E, though. Bear got an extremely dry, itchy skin condition before I realized he was not getting enough Vitamin E. I thought it had caused another condition I posted about elsewhere, but it didn't. It did, however, make his skin dry out.

If your dogs are all the same size and they eat the caps without a problem that is the way to go.

Me - I get the liquid. My guys range from 10 to 70 pounds and some won't eat the capsules. I don't have time to futz with cutting open and squirting and such. It's much easier to just use the pump bottle!
