So i've been working with Shasta for a while now on learning 'down'. I'm sure a lot of you remember my video of me telling her down and her flopping down and then rolling over. Well i can say down and now she just looks at me like i've lost my mind (typical puppy i know) until i pull out the treat and instantly she knows what i'm talking about. Well this morning we were practicing and whadaya know she does know what i'm talking about WITHOUT the treat in hand. She only occassionally flops and rolls over (like someone shot her lol!). So yippy yay we're making progress.

Another milestone regarding the car has been reached as well. We were heading out to the car in the garage like usual and i just opened the door and told her to get in and she did! I didnt have to pat the seat or where i wanted her to go. She just climbed in. This is fabulous simply because it means she's finally gotten the confidence to do it without much encouragement AND she's figured out she can actually use the running board every time to help her get in. If i manage to stay awake until hubby gets home from work, we'll be working some more on stay (sit or down doesnt matter as long as she stays) and further concentrate on heeling where i want her to.

My lil 6 month old pup is growing up! Yes, mommy meltdown. My daughter turned 3 and became a different child overnight, my son has started trying to say more than 'ball' and my puppy is smarter than any of my other dogs and everything is just going so fast!!! I'm so proud of everyone! Just not enough time to catch all the pictures i want to catch. I'll see about getting some video done later of some training. Given we dont do professional classes and i do all the training myself with some tips from others occassionally, i would say i'm doing pretty darn good!!!
