I was cleaning out some drawers and have some old dog medication, rimadyl and such that is outdated. Hate to throw it in the garbage as I'd imagine eventually it could leak into the soil. I know landfills are supposed to have liners but I still worry. What does everybody do with their expired prescriptions?

I believe the correct disposal for all old medications is garbage. Don't flush them.

No I wouldn't flush them. I know that would be worse. It would be nice if pharmacies would take them for disposal or at least have somewhere to dispose of them other than the garbage.

Maybe call one and ask?

I know Costco is set up to do it.
Oh, thanks! I'll check with my local Costco.
