So I've been talking to a trainer but he's a K9 trainer and kind of no nonsense types of training, he does offer puppy classes but anyway I stumbled across this and it's only a few miles from me, I think it looks like a lot of fun! It's a sports club where you can take obedience, agility and rally classes as well as buy a membership to have full access to their fields and equipment. They also hold events in all of the above, to me it looks like a fun place and a great way to get in socialization.

What do you guys think of this place??

Looks good!!! Sounds like a fun place with a lot of positive/rewards training!

With a young dog like Blitz, more important that you start off with a lot of positives, he will come to see working with your and learning new behaviours as fun, and it will give him a great foundation for all future training.

Sure is worth trying it out.

They say they've got two CPDT-KA certified trainers on staff. That lets me know that they are serious about training humanely, as that certification is not easy to get. I've known a couple of trainers that have earned it, and they were both very good trainers.

An outdoor AND an indoor facility? Go for it!

good luck at Lucky Dog Sport Club.
don't wait for class time to socialize.
you can socialize everyday, several
times a day.
Oh boy do I! My car is full of hair and all the pet stores around here know us by name LOL! if I have to go somewhere with out Blitz she watches me leave like her heart is breaking because she always goes everywhere with me!!

Thanks for all the opinions guys, I'm super excited to go and get a membership, I'm sure we'll be there a lot after school drop off during the week!

I'm even more excited now, I have an appointment this Friday to meet with the lady that will be my private trainer if I decide I like her, She is one of the CPDT-KA certified trainers and owns two German Shepherds and a BC all involved in many working sports. Really liked her over the phone, I'll try to get some pictures of the place and let everyone know how it went! The fact that she has two working German Shepherds is just the icing on the cake!

This looks like a cool place. Not knowing anything first hand about this place or the k9 trainer you mentioned, I would say this place sounds much better.
Thanks, I can't really knock the first guy I mentiond because I don't know him, he's been recomended to me by a lot of people I trust. He trains all the police dogs around here but from looking at his website he is mostly police work and protection training. He may be great later on but for now with my 4 month old "baby" this sports club to me seems like it will be fun and we will be able to figure out what she can do and what we want to do and kind of grow together under loving hands.
