Is there a way to introduce a dog to an E-collar in such a way that it doesn't drive him crazy? He's jumping around like an idiot, rubbing it with his paws, rubbing his head on the ground, scraping up against walls and tables. . . this has been going on for over an hour.

OoooKayyyy. Has he worn a collar before? (had to ask) Are you trying to train with it immediately or did you just put it on him to wear and get used to?

Do you have a crate where you can confine him? Maybe he will settle down and relax instead of trying to fight with it.

I've never used an e-collar, but anytime I introduce any of my dogs to new, collars I try to distract them from it. We'll play ball do a bit of OB or go for a walk. If the dog is annoyed and bored he will probably be trying to get the collar off for quite a while...

Thanks for the replies, guys. He hurt himself and I didn't have time to get him used to the collar. I think he's as used to it as he's going to get now. He hates running into things, so he just doesn't move around a lot. Poor guy.
