I was really happy at the end: Tori NQ'd. I think he should have let me finish the course though. I did not correct my dog and she did not potty in the ring or show aggression. What happened was that she spooked a little at the start and pulled, but was already recovering (not pulling) when I had her go down and as I was walking around, I dropped her lead. When I stooped to pick it up, she started up. So I called a do-over and repeated the sign. Which she did correctly.

We moved to the next sign and I was calling her front, and dropped the leash again!!! She did not pull it out of my hands either time. It was loose. I have carpul tunnel in both wrists and since the surgery, I drop things. I dropped the leash walking Cujo twice already. With my own dogs it is just a normal occurance. I took a hold of Tori's collar to snag her leash and was calling a do over, when he just excused me. What a bummer, because Tori wasn't doing that badly at all. I told him I just dropped the lead. But he said she was pulling me, and I wasn't going to argue about it. Tomorrow's another day.

Arwen got her first leg in Obedience. This is my first leg in obedience too. We took first place with a score of 186. So that was really kool.

And then I showed Rushie at a match in conformation. My brother ran around with him. He took first in his class, but some bitch beat us for breed. I was happy though, because he went through the berry check this time like it was nothing. The only problem is that Rushie sits -- all the time. We are learning plenty, though. Once we have learned enough to be going on with, we will start with a pup.

All around, it was a good day.

I had leash trouble in novice, too. Kenya has a nice loose leash and I hold the end or close to the end, don't like to roll it or wad it up in my hand since sometimes it inadvertently tightens up on the dog and it looks bad. The con is there is always leash hanging down and if she gets "prancy" she can get caught up in it. Once at a match during a down she stepped a front paw over the lead. Of course I had to let go of the lead to pull it back through and the judge marked off, but luckily that was only a match. Sometimes when she does her left finish she just the jump thing and will step over the lead, luckily that never happened in a show. I was so glad to get out of novice and stop worrying about the dang leash!

Arwen took first today, and Whitney qualified, so they both have two legs now. Hope I can finish up in Canfield in August.

Tori and Arwen finished yesterday in Canfield. Tori took third and Arwen was the only one in her class, so she took first with a score of 186. All the errors were mine. Tori got a nice score of 92 and I was really happy with both of my girls yesterday.

I was worried Tori would, she is near being due to. And she has a history of getting to training classes and starting during the first class, so that we then miss three classes with her.

Thankfully, I have enough critters that I can put to in the car and if Tori decides to start, I can substitute Heidi or Whitney and not miss out on the training.

We start another class on August 21, so she will probably go into heat on the 21st.

I was going to be a spectator today, but my contractor was supposed to come and work on my fence. And I would have to be there, as he has a history of teasing Babsy.

Sorry about Csabre, the one thing the dogs have on us. It is too bad we cannot put a diaper on our girls and go in anyway. THAT would be a good test for group excersizes and even better for out of sight stays.
