My dog was at daycare yesterday and I've just noticed this afternoon he appears to have lost a toe nail. He doesn't seem to he in any pain at all, is his perfectly normal self and there's no bleeding right now. I believe I can just see the 'quick' so looks like he lost the whole nail. No limping, running around like normal however he's licking it every now and then.
Do I need to take him to the vet? Should I bandage it up or anything like that and will it heal/grow back on its own?

It could become infected, so I would be very careful. Going to a vet isn't a bad idea, and I would not let him lick it AT ALL. My golden retriever licked her foot down to the muscle when she was being watched by a friend while I was out of town. She was on antibiotics and painkillers for a month because of it.
