Heck, no, and if they did that they would be corrected.
I decide when I wake up, not them.
But, what if they're waking you up because they have to go potty? 3 of my dogs are crated at night, one is not. Oskar wakes us up in the morning by whining, he's one of the ones crated, he's got to go potty.

That has happened once, and it wasn’t licking, it was LOUDLY screeching and scratching at the door 😀
I will get up for that, but waking me up just because they’re up?
I don’t think so.

We do!
Nothing like waking up to that noise and doing the zombie shuffle with a dog who is staggering out, immediately squatting, and ... well, you get what was wrong.
Interestingly, they KNOW the second I’m awake even if I don’t move. Then they approach quietly, sit and STARE. If I pretend I’m asleep, they will go back to bed.
They are taken out for the last time at 11 PM and I wake up early, so they don’t have to hold it for long.
I’m also one that doesn’t tolerate having her face licked, so they know better.

I have caught my dog quietly quietly whining trying to wake me up without me knowing and they think I'm asleep :sneaky:

Generally, they don't move from 11-7AM or a bit later.

Both males in my household are awake with the sunrise ...
Rumo stands in the doorway just outside the bedroom and gives a "Huff!"
Then my husband says loudly, "Yea, Mom is still SLEEPING! SHE'S NOT AWAKE YET."

Then I roll over and try to go back to sleep!! sigh
