Does Your Girl pee like a boy

Just wondering. Dynamo did this twice in a row today, marking up a tree like a boy. She's five years old and spayed. Usually, she just 'power pees', which is what a call that deliberate butt squat that the girls do when they mark, but today she got the whole leg lift and aim thing going. I had another female that did that. Is it common? I'm just curious. I really couldn't care less which way my dogs go as long as it misses my floor and my legs.

My first dog did that and taught it to Chama. She lifts her leg to pee and Rafi squats.

beamers never done it but my first dog did it a few times i remember. i was like "awkwarrdd" lol.
Kacie marks and then back legs kick back~covers the ground, but doesn't leg lift. Onxy has done the mounting behavior, no movement, just mounting kacie, though in the past month a couple of times(she just turned 1.5 yrs on the 8th & is spayed)
Elle has tried it and I guess she just figures it's easier to pee like a girl. Emma has never tried it. My Grandmother's dog non-GSD does it, and so does my mom's non-GSD.

I've had several spayed females that do that. Currently, Zamboni actually will walk over to where my male GSD has already marked, lift her leg high (he's about twice as tall as she is) and try to mark over his previous 'signature.' She nearly tips over!

She learned it from one of my other females.

I have very confident girls.

Oh, yea. Forgot to mention that Chama marks over Rafi's pee and any other dog's pee too. If we are walking with a group I think she gets exhausted having to mark over everyone's pee! I find it interesting that if she is peeing on a tree she adjust the height of her leg and tilt of her body to be sure her pee goes up higher. She really has finely honed this skill!

And Chama loves to hump Rafi. I have finally gotten her to stop because she hurts herself with her arthritis but she started every morning for all the years Basu was with with us by humping him (an 80 pound male).
He just stood there, like, "Are you done yet? "

No - but my boy pees like a girl!! Cooper has never lifted his leg, he has always squated. It cracks me up when he goes and marks his territory after after ... he walks with his tail high and fluffed and then he squats ... I laugh every time he does that.
I've seen my intact female do this many times and my male beagle squats. Go figure.

Another female leg-lifting, territory marker here!!!

(I mean Keeta, NOT talking about me!!!)
When a dog hikes their leg..either male or female, it's acting dominant. So if there are more than one dog and multiple hikings, ACK!!! lol
Thanks for all the stories. Hilarious. I guess my Dynamo is just being an Alpha B***** & it sounds like there's a lot them :)
My girl and boy pee the same - deep squat. Coke (boy) leans forward, while Kenya (girl) leans back and is basically in a sit with her tail up. Neither of my dogs mark, thank God! They never ever pee on walks or anywhere besides my yard and *maybe* the field at the training club.
No, but my Murphy pees like a girl

usually not, but sometimes on walks she will lift it up for a tree or sign post. Or unless the neighbors dogs (male) are running around and pee on something in our yard, she lifts the leg and goes over the top of theirs. I always know when their dogs were out, she lets me know. She's spayed and 8.

Nope never seen my girl lift her leg, just squats like a lady

HOWEVER, she does have to mark over every dog that has previously pee peed in the area.....and I do mean EVERY
