Does Jax look like a pure breed GSD to you?

My wife and I were looking into maybe adopting Jax. He's 2 years old. In the pics he looks like a dark sable GSD to me. My wife pointed out the white on his chest and is not sure if he's full blooded, or a mix. To me he looks full blooded. Do shepherds sometimes have a patch of white???? Here's some pics of him. Looks like an awesome dog to me. He's house trained, and leash trained. Neutered and all up to date on shots, ect.

i'm pretty sure that lots of PB shepherds have that white. luc (black GSD, consensus is PB) does, and i have for sure seen PB black GSDs w/it.

Goodness, he looks GORGEOUS! He does look pure and yes, some GSDs do have those white chest spots. It's not desirable but it doesn't affect them at all except colorwise. If you don't adopt him, mail him down to Florida, please!

Ok that's good to know. He looks like a dark sable to me, but that's just what I've seen from the pics of him. He's a good looking fellow indeed. Thanks for the reply.

white on the chest is common in several american show lines. his legs look like a bicolor. he has unusual markings around his eyes. sometimes it's so hard to tell from pictures.

He's gorgeous! If he has the personality you want then I'd snap him right up, especially since he's been in there since X-Mas, poor guy!

Well if he is or isn't at least one thing you do know -- you will never have to worry about your boy keeping Santa from your house on Christimas Eve.

Gorgeous!!Have to say he reminds me of a wolf hybrid mostly black recently posted on ?what dog would you never own??His face and eyes are incredible-looks wise beyond wise-do not see any signs of other breed despite white.

He does have some killer looking eyes. I think the black with the hint of brown gives him a very high coolness factor.

Stunning dog, snag him quick! Our shepherd is PB and does have a patch of white on him.

Yep, purebred. That second pic is the teller for sure. And yes, as has been said, white on the chest does appear from time to time. Nice calm dog you have there.

My GSD is pure and she has a white patch on her chest and a big black spot on her tongue...
