Hi, I am a lover of the breed and have had a number of GSD's over the last 30 years. I recently rescued a 5-6 week old male puppy whose mother ingested an agricultural poison and died. Though I have had other GSD pups, I have NEVER had one this young. My pup is active, and he is always hungry. I have always fed my older pups a raw diet along with various fruit and vegetable treats. I am just a little out of my depth when it comes to my pup's dietary needs at this very young age. Ideas on a GOOD young puppy diet and any treats that can be offered him will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

You can start him on a raw diet as soon as you want to. Ground would be best until he's closer to 9/10 weeks and then wings can be introduced along with drumsticks and necks and go from there onto different sources, etc.

Thanks for the reply, I started him on ground beef and ground turkey a few days back and he loves it. Feeding three times a day and including small pieces of parboiled carrots which he enjoys.
