A few months ago I brought my GSD "Diesel" (4months at the time) to my work with me and I had a co worker ask me "why does he walk like that"? I said he has always walked that way.

Then I emailed my breeder and she told me it was normal he is at the clumsy stage. It is common and will get better, he is west German showline and it is in his bloodline. His dad has cow hocking too and he was never disqualified from the dog shows. He is a UKC champion.

My question is when will this go away?

It may not , just as his sire continues to be cow hocked .

this is a conformational problem - excessive angulation , long and loose ligament / cartilage .

the best you can do is to feed to support firm
ligaments
