There is a wealth of information about this stuff online. But here is what I've come up with... Please add to or critisize is this sounds right.

4% of the estimated adult weight of the dog. Twice a day... can always be adjusted according to weight gain or loss.

Rotation of meats with variety...

Beef heart, liver, green tripe, kidney and tail.

Chicken necks, backs, gizards, hearts, feet, liver and wings.

Deer heart, ground venison, liver and kidneys.

Fish ... Still looking into this one... it may just be easier to add the salmon oil or fish oil.

Lamb breast, neck, liver and hearts.

Supplements or adds-

Salmon oil if no fish is fed.
Probiotic plain yogurt
pumpkin filling.
1 egg with shell

Of course not all of that stuff would be in the same meal, and the percentages would be adjusted some. I'm still looking at the percentages of certain parts and pieces, but it seems organs are the smallest percentage.

I read a lot of mixed reviews on veggies or fruits. I don't think it would be necessary, but again, I'm reading up.

I'm still researching so bear with me, and please add more info.

I would only feed (and DID only feed) 3% estimated adult weight PER day, not twice a day.

I don't feed veggies.

Everything else you've picked out looks good.

I follow the 80/10/10 prey model.

As far as adding egg or yogurt, is it best to do it with both feedings? Or just one?

I've read some people suggest 1 egg per day, but I haven't found much on the yogurt other than people use it.

I give one spoonful of yogurt during the PM feeding, and I only give eggs one or two eggs a WEEK for my GSD. My beagle got half an egg a week.

I just started raw diet 15 days ago for my 11 year old GSD/Lab/?Corgi, and trying to read and learn more...

I feed her 2 % of her weight, as a senior, divided into 2 portions.

The foods I use are basically similar to your list, although have used some canned liver (Newman's organic), and some canned salmon.

Eggs have been about 5 per week... Should be more???

No yogurt yet, as she had bad diarrhea about a month ago after having some cheese as a reward at class.

Should I be giving a vitamin/mineral supplement?

Does a 6oz can of salmon once weekly provide sufficient fish oli, or should I supplement?

Mostly she eats Bravo chicken or lamb. Organic chicken with bones when I can find them. So far, about 3 times per week.

Small amt cooked broccoli or carrot occasionally

Frozed blueberries,

I'd love any comments, info, ?s, suggestions. Thank you!

So I wanted to see if Ruger was going to take to this diet very well, and went out to get some chicken.

I bought chicken thighs, brought them home and cut a small portion off with the bone left in. Not only did she LOVE it, she sat at the bowl crying for more. LOL

Have you called a meat processor or butcher shop? They can usually order cases, a 30# is normal. Bag them up and re-freeze them. I would get some turkey necks instead(or if you can't find backs), they are meatier and the dogs really like them. I chunk the tom necks in 1/3's and one chunk is enough for a RMB in the meal. They do run higher in price than backs.

There are so many benefits in feeding tripe daily, that would be one of the first things I'd introduce.
Don't do the pumpkin filling but pure pumpkin, the filling has additives.
I would also add in some vitamin E daily(400iu) C( 500mg to start upping it to 2000 split between meals) rotate B complex(when feeding eggs) and D when we have short days with no sun... This months Whole Dog Journal has a big chunk of the journal dedicated to raw feeding. Worth the subscription, not sure you can view it online if you aren't a subscriber: Whole Dog Journal - Search Results

Looks like too much work, but let me give you some advice on probiotics. Forget yogurt for that. Yogurt is great to feed especially whole goats milk, but the probiotics in yogurt are too weak, not enough, not the right strains and not coated to make it into the lower digestive tract. They will just get digested.

Use Bac Pak Plus, Bertes, Jarrow's or another product made specifically for dogs.
