I don't want this to turn into a raw vs kibble diet. I simply am wondering how many of you are, or have fed your dogs Costco brand dog food? Your thoughts, how was their coat and stools?
Rocky eats the Kirkland Signature Chicken, Rice, and Vegetable formula. He's doing really well on it. Good coat, firm stools. His joints are doing well too, but I should add that he's getting Nupro Silver supplement.
I used it for many years with my previous GSD's. My new ones have been switched to TOTW because of digestion issues. It seemed to me to be a good food for a great price.
Costco also has a grain free food out now as well. Comes in an all blue bag, Nature's Domain. Very reasonably priced. I use grain free kibbles in adjunct to raw and did not notice any difference between using Nature's Domain and something like Orijen, which is probably twice the price.
My dogs (three GSDs thus far) are on Kirkwood lamb & rice. One is now gone, but all three have (had) great, shiny coats, firm stools and excellent health. I make my own supplement and add it rather than canned dog food. I'm a foodie and I don't like the idea of my dogs just eating kibble all their lives without a little oopmh and variation. But, the main star is the kibble.
Thanks for the info on the grain free nature's domain!
