Hi Everyone!

Its me...the habitual worrier. Yes I know....sorry. :(

Ok, so. My kids have been on the Raw diet for about 3 months. Their stats are as follows...

Abby, full GSD almost 3 years old, at about 26". I have her goal weight of ~65#
Parker, mixed GSD 9month, at about 22". I have his goal weight of ~45#.

I feed at 2.5% of their goal weight. Both are very active.

My concern is that they look so stinking skinny. Abbys hip bones stick out. I can see and feel her spine when she lays down. I dont really see her ribs, but can feel them very easy. Parker, well...I can see all of his ribs.

Since he is still growing...should I put his goal weight higher?

Is the solution to feed the satin balls? Or should I increase to 3% and up their goal weight?

Thanks guys!

Up the portion, don't worry about adding the satin balls.
I never really go by percentages, I go by how they feel ribwise. Bump up or decrease when needed.

2.5% is just a starting point. If your dogs are too thin on that percentage ... increase it. :)

I'd go to 3% (especially if they are very active) and give that a few weeks. If you don't see weight GAIN then I would up it to 3.5%.

Once you get them at their goal weight you can watch and see if they maintain (which means you would continue at that percentage) or gain (which means you would bump them down a bit).

Every dog is different and you have to adjust to each individual dogs needs. :)
