might smell good, but it's got to be imported, so costs 2x as much, then it might poison your pooch!

Most of our local stores do not carry cocoa mulch due to the pet dangers.

A couple years back I saw it at Home Depot here and they
wouldn't even put up a warning sign when I told them about it!

Do you think coconut mulch is okay then???? Just bought some but haven't opened it up yet. Can still return it if we need to.

coconut is likely fine...
cocoa on the other hand is like chocolate, thus toxic to dogs
if/when ingested in large enough quantity.

that snopes article says this email has been going aorund since 2003...
but I just got it today, and my wife just mentioned cocoa mulch, but
we bought pine as it was cheaper...it never occurred to me that
cocoa=chocolate and would be a problem.
