Just got finished reading the Sunday paper and there was an article about a Georgia group sending care packages to military working dogs. The group's name is Daffy's Pet Soup Kitchen out of Lawrenceville -- originally a pet food bank.

There are currently 700 military dogs. Three hundred of them are at 45 kennels at various bases. When Tom Wargo gets the wishlist from War Dogs Association, he'll post it up on the website. If you are interested in learning more, the website address is http://www.daffyspetsoupkitchen.com.

There are also organizations, where you can "adopt" a K-9 soldier and his dog, and send packages directly to them. I have done this for a number of years and sponsored various branches, I've had Air Force, Army & Marines.

They have very limited access to supplies for their dogs and truly appreciate the assistance. You usually do have to apply to be a sponsor, with your name and address and then you can be assigned a team.

I'm going to check out the link above too -- would love to help. Thanks for posting.

Here is the link to the story. Thank goodness I found it on the internet because I didn't want to retype it. lol. http://www.macon.com/220/story/971510.html

I truly admire those people who are willing to do this because it's a lot of work.

I need to go over to the kennel and ask what they need so I can have Joe send me a package of stuff for the dogs.
