I have a 5 month old female GSD. I have read a lot about anxiety when riding in cars, but she seems to have true car sickness. Dramamine actually works well for her, but she has a bit of a sensitive stomach, and it appears that when I give it to her, she gets diarrhea later that day....any other suggestions? We love to take her with us, but want her to be happy!

This may not be the same thing. But I'll post. Just in case.
Our guy is 15 weeks tomorrow. Right from day one he got sick 80% of the time. We started doing very short trips, with happy endings. Ie. Walks.
He was sick quite a bit less. Maybe 50% of the time. This whole time I had been picking him up, and sitting him on my lap. Then a friend told me Baron had to think it was his idea to go in the truck.
So we started leading him in with treats, and letting him lay on the floor boards.
He hasn't been sick since. Today we drove over an hour.

i use to put my dog in the car and not move it or start
the engine. i put my dog in the hatch area. i taught my
dog to stay in the back of the car and at the sametime
i was getting him use to the car. sometimes i would put him
in the car and start it up but not move the car. then i started
putting my dog and i would move forward and back up. i did
that a few times. i also fed my dog in the car. so after sometime
doing the driveway exercises i would take a 5 minute drive, maybe
less. the 5 minute drive became 10 minutes and the 10 minute
drive become 20 minutes and so.

When I was pregnant I got terrible car sickness. Slowly eating Saltine crackers seemed to help, maybe try some or another simple carb?
