I know this may seem like a stupid question but I was wondering if the caloric count per cup is really that important? Should the caloric count influence choosing a particular brand?

It's only important in determining the quantity to feed. If you're switching from a food with a higher or lower amount of Kcals per cup than your current food, you'll need to do some math to make sure you're feeding the same amount of calories.

Not a stupid question but a VERY good question! Yes! It is very important as it indicates the energy content of a food and essentially how rich the food is and how much needs to be fed. The lesser the kcals in a food the more needs to be fed and the more money it can potentially cost you/ On the same token foods with higher kcals usually cost more to begin with as they are energy dense.

Thank you, Cherri!

I didn't realize that about kcal regarding the lower per cup the more you will have to feed and so on. Learn something new everyday!
