call it target fixation
when my GSD see's my kitten, some times the tale wags, some times not, but cin goes into what the military call target fixation. thats all she see's, if i have a treat, food, toy, nothing. it takes a harsh correction with a prong collar to even stop trying to pull towards the cat. if she really gets wound up, i put her in her crate and cover her, then let her back out in about 15min or so. then if we put the cat in another room, she will search the rooms she can get to tryin to find the cat. Cin is ultra smart, very affectionate, and all ready protective of the yard, and she wont let another dog near me.
