[Lucy Dog]

I noticed some kind of black scab under Lucy's paw the other day. Smells a little funky too, but nothing too bad. Doesn't seem to bother her at all, but she was licking a little. That's how I noticed it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Looks like a cut that has turned into a scab.

I would clean it out with soapy warm water, put some polysporn on it and leave it alone.

Watch it for a few days and see if it improves, if not then I would bring her in to the vet just to have them take a look/clean it out and if it is infected antibiotics may be in order (smell usually means infection).

Thanks, Elisabeth. Already cleaned and has neosporin on it.

The only thing that has me worried is that it's kind of grown a little in the last 24-48 hours. I noticed it the other day and it seems to have doubled in size since then. Kind of like a rash instead of a scrape.

It looks like it could be a really bad yeast infection to me. You might want to take her in and have the vet do a skin scraping.

Yeast can have a funky smell. So can infection, of course. I would take her in so that you can get just the right stuff for it!
