Do bi-colors become darker as they age? I've seen a very melanistic bi-color at about three years old, and now at four, he seems to have become darker. Just my imagination?

I can only speak for Delgado but he did lose tan as he grew. He hasn't changed much in the last few months though so he might have plateaued

I think they all can change there colour a bit as they get older.
My Girl went from a really dark Sable at 18 months to a much lighter Sable by the time She was three.

Frank is only 4 so I only know up till now, but he has continually lost the tan that was on his body since he was a puppy, and replaced it with black.

I think it depends on the genetics of the dog. Onyx never changed from puppyhood, her breeder said she'd get darker down her legs but it never happened(breeder's first litter of bi's)
Though her coat has changed, it use to be a tight stock coat, and now with age it is much thicker.
