The butcher where we are getting the Turkey necks and pig ears from sells the whole cow stomach. While I know it is good for them I want to know how much freezer space it will take up. They don't cut it up or anything.

So how big is one whole stomach?

DH said not to worry to much since he is going to be the one
and cutting it up.

5-7 pounds empty weight (no grass or gain in stomachs). So it should take up the space of a small roast

Make sure it's not a cleaned stomach - you want it fresh from the cow!!

Yummmmm ... warm and fresh and that oh-so-WONDERFUL aroma!!!

Ok, I'm weird - I like the smell of green tripe. It reminds me of the smell of a horse or cow barn at the fair in mid summer.

It would be fresh. I watched them hack up a cow while we were there today. I forgot to ask about the stomachs to see how big they were.
