Barking at men

Just wanted to get some opinions. Kai is normally 100% okay with everyone after being socialised to the hilt. He is always happy to approach people and seems to prefer humans to dogs.

But, on two occassions now he has been a bit spooked by two seperate men. Once on a walk, this guy went past us, head down, hands in pockets. Up went Kai's hackles, he was barking and kind of backing off the guy. We popped him back on lead and just walked past without making a fuss and I didn't think too much of it. Yesterday, at agility training while we were putting out the equipment Kai was out just running around the ring and one of the guys in the class was helping us, Kai was fine and then suddenly seemed to notice the guy and started barking, hackles up etc again. I just put him back in the car after saying No to him but I am now wondering if:
a) I did the right thing (thought I should have gotten the guy to offer food / play with him)
b) should I be worrying about this behaviour (Kai is nearly a year).

a) I did the right thing (thought I should have gotten the guy to offer food / play with him) I think this is what I would have done to show him he was just being a silly boy and the guy was ok.

b) should I be worrying about this behaviour (Kai is nearly a year). Not so much 'worry' as know it's a new behavior for Kai so you need to be proactive and have an immediate plan in place for when (if?) it happens again.
Yeah that is what I was thinking - thanks for backing up my thoughts. Luckily the agility competition season starts again properly this weekend so we can find loads of 'victims' and get this sorted.
tyson is not fond of "strange" women, he is good with the women in the family. when it comes to men he loves to play and see's no threat in them. my guess is its either because i am a male and he spends most of his time with me or it could be that women are usually the ones who rush him "OH LOOK AT THE CUTE PUPPY!!" with that high pitched voice...??? i dont know. we did start with haveing "strangers" offer him food while we are walking and that good stuff. it seemed to help with him barking at strangers. he does hackle up sometimes but no barking..so far.
