So my wife and I went into Krogers (a US supermarket) last night around 9pm to get things to make banana splits.
As always, as she's shopping, I gravitated towards the meat aisles to see what they had.
I see a bunch of whole small chickens with a REDUCED sticker on them that says $0.29/lb. However, the actual price on the sticker worked out to about $0.60/lb (still not a bad deal for whole chickens though)!
After much speaking with the manager (and the fact that they had to be sold that day or thrown out and the store closed at 10pm) we took everyone that they had and they rang them through the checkout at $0.29/lb!
Yay for the dogs! 10-12 whole chickens for around $20 for the lot. What a deal!
We also saw some ham there for normally $1 /lb, but we had them reduce it to $0.50/lb since it also had to be sold by that day. What a deal!
Our dogs will love us
