Well he is 9 months old. Been sleeping in a crate from 3am to 11am. Then work hours changed. Girl and I both work 9-5 so we felt bad for having him cooped up in a crate for 11pm to 7am, then 830am to 6pm. Wayyyy too long.

So we let him sleep at the foot of our bed for the first time last night. He did so well! My girl got up to shower, and he just laid there until she was done in the bathroom 30min later.

It went much better than I expected! Now we are looking into doing bursts of freedom. When we leave for a few minutes up to hours. This way while he is active an awake we can see if he knows right from wrong.

Ahhh, parenthood.

I ususally test mine for sleeping outside the crate around 5-6 months and they typcially do well. I would not however, trust a 9 month old with full freedom during the day. It's usually around 15-18 months that mine are ready for that.

If you are going to test that young during the day I would limited him to one room.
