Has she ever scolded or corrected him while relieving (including during the house breaking phase... bad timing or sensitive dogs can take this very literally)

Is he distracted? Flirting / trying to engage with her...

Does she talk to him?

On leash, off leash?

What exactly is he doing while not going?

Will he go with both of you present, have you tried that?

Any subtle thing that she does differently?

I've never had a problem with my personal dogs, but the dogs I work with are occasionally slow to relieve for new handlers.

Is this on or off leash? It could be habit. Our girls aren't ever on leash at home, and can travel for up to 12 hours without relieving themselves at all if they are on leash. We stop every few hours and walk them, but nothing.

No scolding, that came from me. He is always on leash and always has been. She walks him in the same place as I do and she has taken him out every morning for months.

Mine goes through cycles. He gets the same walk every morning. He had a park that he pooped at everyday for 3 years. All of a sudden he stops pooping there. He won't poop on walks now. Sometimes he poops in the back of the yard in the AM, but other times, he skips all together.

I don't think there is rhyme or reason for any of this.
