I know advantage doesn't cover heart worms...and I've read on here about the heart worm med that can cause seizures...what about heart guard? Or revolution? I know heart guard is only heart worms, but revolution is both. I just put on advantage (yesterday) would it be ok to give heart guard today, and next month start revolution?

The shelter here gives Advantage (for fleas) and ivermectin (same ingredient as Heartgard) the same day. I've done it too. My dogs tolerate ivermectin well, so it's a non-issue here.

If you like Advantage II for fleas, you might also look at Advantage MULTI (which also includes a heartworm preventative) in the future. Like all HW preventatives, it requires a vet RX, but it's widely available at a discount from online pet RX pharmacies.

Personally, I prefer to separate flea preventative from HW preventative because I do not need flea preventative year round, but I do need HW preventative year round. (I use Iverhart Max.)
