i am suspecting a chicken alergie since my dog always been scratching since we have him . ( 2 month until now 6 month )

before he was eating purina pediatric vetenary and was scratching a bit .. now hes on orijen for puppies ( large breed ) and hes scratching way more .. no other allergie sign tho .

so im suspecting chicken allergie since both food have some in it .. but orijen have way more so that would explain to me why hes scratching more since we feed him with orijen .

i tried to find a none chicken based puppy food ... cant find any near were i live . ( montreal ) ..

so i was wondering can i give my pups wellness core salmon or fish based orijen food , but both are for adult dogs ...

any idea ?

I'd say at 2% max, CORE has too much calcium for a growing large breed puppy.

If you're already feeding Orijen, why not try the 6 fish one? It is marketed as an adult food, but has appropriate cal/phos levels for a growing puppy, and no chicken. I'm fairly certain ALL Orijen "flavors" have the correct levels, with the exception of the Regional Red one, so really any of them should be fine.

We switch all of ours off of puppy food before 6 months, usually around 4 months. Actually the ones that were born here were never on puppy food, but any we've bought from someone else usually starts out on whatever the breeder was feeding, which is usually a puppy food, so we transition off of it pretty soon after getting them settled in.

My pup has been on Orijen adult since she was 10 weeks old. She is now 5 months and thriving.
