I received an email asking for help posting Jake, a 7 yr old male at the Ritchie Cty HS. His PF listing has next to no info, so he's being bypassed for adoption. Hopefully more info will follow soon.

Free transport is available for this boy to NH next weekend - June 6. Please contact Sue at [email protected].

Sue also mentioned that this shelter only puts adoptable dogs up on petfinder and is very good at temperament testing.

In general, with GSDs, what age does Sr. begin? 7?

For large breeds, senior is generally around 7+.

I received an update with more info about Jake -

Okay, he’s good with men too. And should even be okay with kids. The shelter mgr.’s husband has let him out in the big fenced grassy area to run and he does well with him, actually listens well to him. Also, they’ve had their neutered male out at the same time, and he was fine with him. Some kids came to visit some other dogs at the same time, and June said he went up and gave one of the kids a kiss on the face. Other than that, he went to lay down on a porch while the kids walked around.

He looks so happy and sounds like such a good boy! Seniors are the best, I hope he finds a good home!

He could be prematurely grey..my Shiloh is getting quite a bit of grey but I contribute that to four years of having Shoshona for a sister LOL. All kiding aside though, this boy is a winner...I think he'd be great on a doggie toothpaste add...he just has such a wonderful smile!!

ok. we have Fluffypants who has free transport to NH on June 6th if we can find a place for him...thanks Fluffypants. Also the shelter's website says they have transport assistance to MD/PA/NJ/NY/CT/NH!!!! So we can find a ride for this boy, all we need is that special home!!!
